    cam / IOD
     So I think on balance I won't be renewing my IOD membership. Not to knock it, I know other people, even new members, are enjoying it enormously. But for me at least the game has lost its sparkle (in a non-Twilight sense).

    Not posted here since Nov 2009.... it seems like it should be a long time ago and certainly a lot's moved on since then.

    Nostalgia is a funny thing. On reflection, looking back at old posts, they were on the whole quite amusing - LRB dating profiles being a high point!

    How does LJ compare with the kinderlings of social media..... facebook seems like a good way to post (monitor) silly photos (of yourself) and stalk people (whenever I friend someone I always check via their photosto see how happy/adventurous etc they've been and found myself wanting), twitter is actually really good to stay up-to-date on politics -journos and politicians use it a lot, so for instance I knew Johnson was standing down a while before the public announcement - but 120 characters?. LJ is a great place to ramble.

    LJ for me seems very "of time and place" very cam, and when I was involved. Like I said, quite nostalgic.... I miss the old London (the Daves (particularly the Daves, I curse NZ on a regular basis,, Jon, Robin, Rob and Tiff - Heidi, Rae) those northern regionals (Jabba, Louise, Matt, Andrea (saving me from drink Amaretto, which, considering how far away we were from civilisation, probably would have been fatal), Ashley, Chris Meadows, the Northerners! etc etc).
